June strawberries, August corn, October squash: the public market is the best place to eat with the seasons and meet the people who grow the food. From the big permanent markets of Montreal and Quebec City to Saturday-morning village markets, this guide brings together 54 public and farmers’ markets across the province, each with the venue’s listing, days and opening hours.
Tips: seasonal markets generally run from June to October, one or two days a week; come early for rare products, late for bargains. Bring bags and cash, not every stall takes cards.
