Rain? Freezing? The indoor activities that save your day

Rain, deep cold or a snowstorm: some days going outside isn’t an option, but staying home isn’t either. Here are 13 indoor activity ideas to do with the family across Quebec, from classics like bowling and karting to more original outings like indoor surfing or immersive experiences. Each idea links to places in the directory or to a specific listing, with address and hours.

Tip: on rainy weekends everyone has the same idea. Book escape rooms and karting ahead, and aim for opening time at play centres.

Our favourites

Les Trois Monkeys, downtown Montreal. Bowling, laser tag, indoor mini-golf, augmented-reality darts, an arcade and virtual reality share a single floor around a restaurant-bar that livens up in the evening.

SOS Labyrinthe, Old Port of Montreal. In Hangar 16, mission card in hand, you search for four treasures in 2 km of corridors, under cover, while staff on roller skates have fun leading you astray.

Escaparium, Laval. The largest escape room complex in Laval lines up rooms with carefully crafted sets, including Le Magnifico, ranked number one in the world by players, and a game master slips you hints when needed.

L’Emprise, Saint-Hyacinthe. Immersive adventures with actors and sets that change from one room to the next; the horror scenarios, for ages 16 and up, are made for evenings with friends.

AeroSim Experience, Laval. Take the controls of a professional Boeing 737NG flight simulator, or of two F-18s in virtual reality: out-of-the-ordinary entertainment, solo or with friends.
