Quebec beaches: the swimming spots the locals keep to themselves

Laurentian lakes, the dunes of the Magdalen Islands, river beaches on the St. Lawrence or bays in Gaspésie: Quebec has hundreds of beaches, many little known outside their region. This guide brings together 136 beaches and swimming spots across the province, each with the venue’s listing, access, lifeguard supervision and services (parking, rentals, snack bar).

Tips: most supervised beaches open from Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day to Labour Day; SÉPAQ park beaches require the daily access fee and can sell out by 10 a.m. on heat-wave weekends, book online. Check water quality on the listing or the Environnement-Plage program.
