Golf in Quebec: the courses to play at least once, region by region

Golf au Québec : les terrains à jouer au moins une fois, région par région

From late April to late October, Quebec offers hundreds of golf courses: championship layouts in the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships, semi-private clubs open to the public, family nine-holers and driving ranges in the city. This guide gathers Quebec’s golf courses, with each one’s listing, number of holes, rates and services.

Our favourites

Club de golf Orléans, Sainte-Pétronille, Île d’Orléans. Billed as the oldest golf course in North America, on a welcoming site just outside Québec City; play is by reservation.

Bic sur Mer, Rimouski, Bas-Saint-Laurent. An 18-hole course along the river, where the elevation changes challenge you and the views reward you, with dining, a café and a bar.

Golf & Ski Vieux-Lennox, Sherbrooke. One of the oldest nine-hole courses in Canada, never altered, right in town: you sometimes come across white-tailed deer and wild turkeys on the fairways.

Club de golf Le Ricochet, Saguenay. The only lit course in the Saguenay, for evening play; equipment is lent free of charge to beginners.

Le Maître de Mont-Tremblant, La Bête course, Mont-Tremblant, Laurentians. A course that follows the rivière du Diable and reveals the Laurentian landscapes around every hole.

Booking a tee time

Tee times are booked online, often a week ahead for weekends; twilight slots cost a third less and are played in under three hours. Spring and fall offer reduced rates and empty courses on weekdays.

Getting started

A short nine-hole or executive course takes under two hours and welcomes beginners without embarrassment; many clubs offer group lessons and equipment rental. Dress codes still apply at most clubs: collared shirt, no jeans.
