YATAI MTL is a popular 4-day event that celebrates Japanese culture and its street food. It features three components: a gourmet space, an exhibitor space, and a cultural space. This is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty of Montreal’s cultural diversity and the harmonious coexistence of communities. Yatai is the name of the street stall in Japan, a tradition that dates back to the Edo period in the 1630s. This ancient practice still brings joy to the Japanese, whether during summer festivals (Matsuri), near temples, along rivers, or outside of office buildings.
