One of the most important pilgrimages of the year at the Oratory takes place in March during the annual novena dedicated to Saint Joseph. The novena to Saint Joseph is presented under a different theme each year, highlighting various aspects of the Christian faith. A preacher (religious, nun, or layperson) is designated to deliver a brief daily teaching on the chosen theme. This novena culminates on March 19 with the grand feast of Saint Joseph. Several celebrations bring together pilgrims in the basilica and the crypt of the Oratory.
