This festival fosters connections and reflection among LGBTQ+ individuals, supports queer creators, and promotes queer culture on both a regional and national scale. Representation is important and fundamental. New queer stories that highlight narrative sovereignty and enable the interactive sharing of LGBTQ+ stories and culture serve as tools for humanization and empathy. image+nation, Montreal’s LGBTQueer Film Festival, presents stories that are both unique and universal, touching our hearts. We can travel there and discover LGBTQ+ cultures from here and around the world! Established in 1988, image+nation is Canada’s first and oldest LGBTQ+ film festival.
