Montréal’s oldest chapel was built in 1771. Known as the mariners’ chapel, this heritage gem features miniature ships suspended from the arches and beautiful works of art. The chapel houses the remains of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys (1620’1700), who founded the chapel, Montréal’s first school, and the Congregation of Notre-Dame.
