Martinha La Fadista presents an intimate fado concert inspired by the spontaneous evenings of Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods, where one sits down, listens, shares, and lets emotion flow freely.
The concert unfolds in three parts, reflecting the original fado format: voice, Portuguese guitar, and classical guitar, the foundation of traditional fado.
It then moves between traditional fado, contemporary fado, and fado fusion, revealing a living art form that evolves across generations and territories.
Finally, fado becomes trilingual — in Portuguese, French, and English — mirroring a diasporic fado that travels, opens itself to the world, and reinvents itself without losing its soul.
Martinha is joined by Hernani Raposo (Portuguese guitar) and Pedro Joel (classical guitar), guest musicians from Toronto, for a moment of intimacy, authenticity, and shared saudade.
