First performed in Yiddish in 1992 with great success, “Di Shvegerins” is the iconic translation of one of Quebec’s most celebrated plays – “Les Belles-sœurs” by Michel Tremblay. Now, in its 60th year, the story of Germaine Lauzon and her lively stamp party once again captures the humor, struggles, and resilience of working women in 1960s Montreal. Funny, moving, and bold, “Di Shvegerins” is a powerful celebration of language, culture, and sisterhood that continues to resonate today.
